NIKIN was founded in 2016 from a simple conviction: that it is possible to create good products without unnecessarily harming nature. This conviction has never changed. Only the team that lives by it has grown. Today, we are over 25 people with the same aspiration: to build a brand that operates in a way that benefits both people and nature.

It was the beer! Two childhood friends met for a beer in a bar in Lenzburg in 2016. That's when the idea for NIKIN was born.

This is Nicholas
Nicholas started a small project called NIKIT while he was still at university. He designed black gym bags with his own logo, which quickly sold out among friends and acquaintances. When a well-known snowboard brand from Iceland intervened due to the name, Nicholas had to put the project on hold. One lesson remained: At NIKIN, trademark rights were subsequently checked twice.
This is Robin
Robin is a trained automotive mechatronics technician, but he lacked creativity in his profession. After vocational baccalaureate, a preparatory design course, and industrial design studies, he found his way. A language stay in Canada and the nature there strongly inspired him. The idea for the NIKIN tree logo also originated there.

How was NIKIN founded?
NIKIN was founded in 2016 based on an idea by two childhood friends, Robin and Nicholas. What started with winter hats and gym bags gradually developed into a Swiss brand with a large community and a shared mission: to create products that treat nature with respect.
What does NIKIN stand for?
We want to show that good products, economic success, and responsibility for nature can go hand in hand. That's why we develop durable products, plant a tree for every product sold, and continuously work to reduce our impact on nature.
What does the name NIKIN mean?
The name NIKIN originally came from the predecessor project NIKIT, which Nicholas had set up before founding NIKIN. Since the name had to be changed for trademark reasons, NIKIN was created. Only later did Robin and Nicholas notice that the new name also connects their two first names: NIcholas and RoBIN.
Where is NIKIN located?
Originally from Lenzburg, our headquarters are now located in Aarau. There, we work daily on new products, projects, and ideas. With the TreeHouse, we have also created our first flagship store and a place for our community here.
Where are NIKIN products made?
We produce most of our products in Europe and work with long-standing partner companies. Transparency and long-term relationships are our main focus.
