The future of cotton begins today.

100% recycled cotton. Designed in Switzerland.

At NIKIN, we are constantly looking for innovative materials that bring us closer to our goal of a circular future. Our promise to you and to nature: 100% circular by 2030. The collaboration with Säntis Textiles is an important step in this direction. Together, we show that high-quality clothing does not necessarily require new resources, because the future of the textile industry begins where we rethink existing materials.

The Woman Behind the Change

The Woman Behind the Change

Many know her as the "Fabric Girl" or the face of Säntis Textiles. We know her as the driving force behind a technology developed by her father, Stefan Hutter, which has the potential to sustainably change the textile industry. Thanks to the innovative, fiber-friendly RCO100 recycling process, Säntis Textiles can recycle used cotton textiles multiple times and recover high-quality cotton fibers from them. This creates 100% recycled cotton with a quality that is unique worldwide. As Managing Director, Annabelle works daily at the interface between textile collectors, producers, and brands. Her goal: to view old clothes and fabric scraps not as waste, but as valuable resources for new products.

"Circularity is collaborative. No company solves this alone."

This conviction has united Säntis Textiles and NIKIN for years.

Our first jacket made from recycled cotton

Our first jacket made from recycled cotton

The pictures for this campaign were taken in a TellTex warehouse, surrounded by mountains of collected used textiles. This is exactly where the story of RCO100™ begins. Instead of disposing of valuable cotton or processing it into inferior products, existing textiles are processed into new fibers. This creates high-quality fabric that can be worn again. Thus, cutting waste and discarded textiles become the beginning of something new.

    Textile collection & sorting

Textile waste from the manufacturing process (fabric and yarn waste), as well as pre- and post-consumer clothing, are collected and sorted by color and composition.

    Disassembly of the textiles

The textile waste is transported to the RCO1OO™ textile recycling plant and broken down into fiber form.

    Fiber processing

The unique Fiber-Forward finishing technology gently opens the cotton, creating extra-long fibers without the use of water or chemicals, thus preserving the fiber in its natural state and ensuring a high standard of quality.

    Yarn production

The mechanically recycled cotton is now processed into spinning-ready yarn. This is barely distinguishable from the original, untouched cotton yarn – but is 100% recycled!
