Deep connection with nature
The year began with a small but special product that perfectly matches NIKIN: our own Scout Scarf . Why? Our founders, Nicholas and Robin—or rather, Zazoo and Simba—were long-time Scouts themselves. Their own NIKIN Scarf was a small dream come true for them. It continued with a tribute to the Swiss mountains: In our Mountain Panorama Collection, we immortalized the impressive panorama of the Churfirsten mountains .
Another highlight was the TreeShirt Ecosystem, which incorporates a significant amount of Swiss forest. The idea for this project was born during a walk in the forest – and, fittingly, the trees planted for it were planted in Switzerland.
A year of innovations
In addition to striking prints, we're especially proud to launch our first rain jacket . Featuring Sympatex® technology, it's made in Europe from 100% recyclable materials and is waterproof even in the most adverse conditions. It's the perfect companion for any outdoor adventure.
Equally revolutionary were our circular products , which can be recycled over and over again without any loss of quality. The best part: As soon as they're worn out, we buy them back thanks to our "Circular Cashback" program and return them to the cycle. This is a clear signal for the future: We want to make all our products circular by 2030 – a big step for NIKIN and the environment.
Trees, trees, trees... and more trees
After reaching the milestone of two million trees planted last year, we started 2024 with ambition. Our goal: to break the three million mark. While we haven't reached this goal yet, we have been able to plant over 250,000 new trees in 13 countries – some of them even in Switzerland. We are particularly proud of our TreePlanting Day in Krauchtal, in the canton of Bern, where we planted around 300 trees together with QoQa and the community.
Another topic close to our hearts will become a reality in 2025: our own flagship store. Starting this spring, our products and employees will move to the TreeHouse in Aarau. There, you can experience us up close, try on products, and enjoy a woodland shopping experience.
From head to toe – NIKIN is everywhere
Our community continued to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration in 2024. A customer showed us pictures of self-sewn children's dresses she had made from old NIKIN shirts. We also announced another winner of our Crowd Design Contest, and our gallery of NIKIN tattoos continues to grow.
NIKIN was present not only under the skin, but also on it: Be it on the feet of astronaut Marco Sieber, on the head in the show 7 vs. Wild, or on the chest of the American-Korean superstar Woosung Kim.
