How do I choose the right tree to plant?
It's especially important to choose a tree that's suited to the climate. Therefore, you should prefer native trees, as they're generally easier to care for. It may also be worthwhile to plant so-called climate trees. These are more resilient in mild winters and dry summers and are therefore better equipped to cope with climate change. You can find a selection of possible climate trees here . You can plant a green giant from spring to fall, although experts recommend autumn.
What do I need to consider when planting a tree?
Another important consideration when planting a tree is how much space you have available. Since your tree can grow quite large over the years, we recommend checking the average height and width of your chosen tree variety. Also, make sure that your tree won't encroach on your neighbors' garden when it's fully grown (for the sake of peace in the neighborhood). Deciduous trees near windows can provide shade in the summer and allow light in the winter thanks to their falling leaves. Trees with tall crowns are ideal for patios, so the canopy is always above you. Take a moment to find the right location and clarify your needs.
Step by step instructions for planting a tree
With the Tree Planting Kits, planting a tree is super easy. You'll receive a small bag of seeds along with specific instructions. These instructions should be read carefully before planting the tree. A location with plenty of light, but not direct sunlight, is ideal for young seedlings. It's also very important to water the soil around the newly planted tree well and keep it moist until the seeds germinate. You can choose between three different tree species with the Tree Planting Kits: Nordmann fir, wild pear tree, and bee tree.

Planting trees with the community: TreePlantingDay
If you prefer planting trees outdoors in a group with friends and family, then sign up for TreePlantingDay on November 20th in Montpreveyres, VD. From 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM, we'll be planting trees together with the Almighty Tree organization and the community. No equipment is needed. All you need to bring are good shoes, time, and the desire to do something good. And last but not least, as with everything in life: just try it. With that in mind, "just tree it"!
