Activity 1: Switzerland – the water castle of Europe
Due to the countless lakes and rivers that Switzerland has to offer, the country in the heart of Europe is also known as the "Water Castle of Europe." Many of the rivers originate in the Swiss Alps and meander across the country and Europe, eventually flowing into various oceans. Although it's still too early to usher in the swimming season, it's still worth planning a trip to one of these numerous bodies of water.
Grab your bike, choose a lake near you (or not), and cycle around it. Depending on the size of the lake, you can easily plan a multi-day cycling tour. With a circumference of around 22 kilometers, Lake Hallwil (AG/LU) can easily be circumnavigated in a few hours. On warm days, it's important to drink plenty of fluids – and our TreeBottle is the perfect solution, keeping your drink refreshingly cool for several hours. If the urge to drink water is already tempting you along the way, then take the plunge!
Activity 2: Roll your route
Buy a day train pass or a cheap day GA travelcard from your local authority. Roll a dice and let fate decide which platform you'll board the next train on. Once you've boarded, roll again – now you know which station you'll get off at. Repeat this process as often as you like. No plan is also a plan. This way, you'll get to places you may have never heard of, or perhaps you've heard a lot about but have never visited.
Activity 3: Let your soul dangle – in a hammock
Whether in your garden, the forest, or a city park—a hammock and two trees are all you need. Read a good book, listen to your favorite songs, or turn off your phone for a moment and simply listen to nature.
Activity 4: Primeval forest in Switzerland – it exists!
Primeval forest, the original forest as it existed thousands of years ago? You don't necessarily have to fly for hours to experience a primeval forest. In fact, you don't even have to cross the Swiss border. There are still a few primeval forests in Switzerland, too. With an area of 1.5 km² , the "Bödmerenwald" in the Muotatal (SZ) is the largest remaining primeval forest in the Alps.
Activity 5: Declutter your jogging route
Plogging – "Plocka," which simply means "to clean up," combined with the word "jogging" – is the name given to this Swedish phenomenon that is currently gaining popularity outside of Sweden. You simply take a garbage bag with you while jogging and clean up the trash that is still being uncontrollably dumped in nature even in 2019. This way, you're not only doing something good for your body, but also for nature. The flora and fauna will thank you!
