Erstmals gibt es bei NIKIN 25% Rabatt an Black Friday – mit dem Circular Deal...

Sure, the title sounds tempting, but let's make it clear right from the start: NIKIN will not be offering a Black Friday discount this year or in the years to come . Instead, we're staying true to our philosophy and taking a stand against Black Friday and the resulting consumer frenzy. Our goal remains to protect the environment in everything we do and to constantly seek alternative ways for more sustainable fashion production. So why are we still talking about a 25% discount?

At NIKIN we are consistent, because we have never had and never have Black Friday discounts.

“Circular Cashback” – Sustainability and reward combined

The 25% discount is available at NIKIN – but only in five years and only as part of our "Circular Cashback" program . This is our way of making fashion long-term and sustainable, while simultaneously rewarding all those who care for their clothes and return them to us at the end of their lives. How does the "Circular Cashback" program work?

It's simple: Once your worn, circular TreeShirt or TreeHoodie has served its purpose, you can return it to us, and we'll pay you cash. You can get up to 10 francs back for the material used in a TreeShirt. But that's not all – we also reward you for how well the product was cared for and how long it was worn. For every full year the TreeShirt was worn, you get an extra 2 francs, up to a total of 10 francs over five years – that's 25% cashback of the original retail price. This means we pay up to 20 francs for a TreeShirt. For the TreeHoodie, it's even up to 35 francs – 20 francs for the material and up to 15 francs for the long-term wear.

This way, our garments stay in circulation and avoid ending up in landfills, but are recycled and reused – an important step towards a circular economy. For us at NIKIN, this is a source of pride, as it extends the lifespan of our products and conserves natural resources.

With the "Circular Cashback" program, we reward twice – our customers and nature.

NIKIN and Black Friday: From Green Friday to Circular Cashback

We're proud that we've stayed true to ourselves since NIKIN was founded eight years ago and haven't jumped on the Black Friday bandwagon . Every year, we've clearly decided against Black Friday and instead always offered an alternative that focuses on nature. For example, we celebrated Green Friday for a long time and doubled our ecological impact by planting two trees instead of one per order. But we knew we could do even more! With the "Circular Cashback" program, we're now taking the next step and focusing not only on reforestation but also on conscious consumption and recycling.

Tips for conscious consumption on Black Friday

We know ourselves that offers with discounts of over 70% and bargain prices can be tempting. However, many of these supposed bargains are misleading, as the prices are often not actually lower , and numerous products are manufactured specifically for this special day rather than simply selling off-the-shelf stock. If you, like us, want to opt for more conscious consumption—especially on Black Friday—we have a few tips for you. These are useful not only for Black Friday, but also every other day of the year:

  • Review your purchasing decisions: Before buying, ask yourself whether you really need the product and how often you will use it in your daily life. If it will only be used a few times, sharing or borrowing might be better alternatives.
  • Quality over quantity: Make sure you buy high-quality, durable products that will provide long-term enjoyment. A one-time investment, while larger, often pays off more than constantly spending money on new purchases or repairs.
  • Support sustainable brands: Choose companies that pursue environmentally friendly and socially responsible values instead of fast-fashion giants. Brands that sell clothes very cheaply often cut corners in other areas – often harming nature through the use of environmentally harmful raw materials and unfairly compensated workers .
  • Compare prices and don't be fooled: Black Friday promises big discounts that are often not as cheap as they seem. Comparing prices weeks or months in advance helps you determine the true value and price of products that are often artificially inflated on Black Friday.
  • Set a budget: Define a maximum amount you're willing to spend in advance to avoid getting caught up in a buying spree. Maintaining wish lists throughout the year is a good way to avoid spending unnecessary amounts of money in one weekend.

Even if the 25% discount doesn't turn out to be a classic Black Friday offer, we warmly invite you to support our "Circular Cashback" program . It's a significant step toward a circular future. And the introduction of the "Circular Cashback" program is just the beginning: We have set ourselves the goal of making all our products 100% circular by 2030. Our mission is clear: We want to create clothing that doesn't harm nature. We see the circular economy as the key to this.
