Autumn has officially arrived, and with it comes the need to say goodbye to many summer activities. This year, this is even more drastic, as the coronavirus has forced many activities to be moved outdoors just to make them possible. This wasn't a problem when the weather was nice, of course, but now that the colder months are approaching, people want to be able to entertain themselves indoors too. Social gatherings with friends, celebrating festivals, cultural events, sports, and games are now possible and safe outdoors again – always with the appropriate distance. Now that autumn is here, this inevitably means a shutdown of many outdoor events for the time being. But that's no reason to despair, because there are plenty of things you can easily do within your own four walls. Of course, this depends a bit on whether you live alone or in a relationship or family.

Challenge: Entertaining children
At least they're going back to school, hopefully without further disruption. But sports club events, children's birthday parties, or movie theaters aren't running the way they did before COVID—or in the summer. Creativity is required, because we don't want the kids to end up in front of the TV. Neither should their parents...
Fortunately, there are many things families can do together – and it’s all fun!
- Shopping and cooking together – and doing it as healthily as possible. Since it's autumn, this can also include making your own jams or fruit preserves. It tastes better than store-bought and will brighten up rainy weekends.
- Board games – offline, of course. Sure, everyone has a tablet or smartphone. But it's easy to forget how much fun you can have doing puzzles, playing card games, or playing Monopoly. For those with a more challenging mind, chess is recommended.
- Painting or crafting together isn't just for parents with young children. Older children can learn to knit or embroider, try their hand at making small, homemade gifts, and even create their own designs on the computer.
- Singing and making music – an all-time classic that can't be replaced by playing MP3s. Good mood guaranteed.

Ideas for couples
Those newly in love are probably looking forward to autumn, because where is it more comfortable than the two of them in their own four walls? Couples who have been together for a while and were accustomed to a varied social life and professional commitments now have to cope with fewer friends – and more home office work. Seeing each other constantly can be detrimental to mutual attraction. Therefore, above all:
- Create free space and do something alone sometimes.
- Organize your free time consciously instead of hanging out in front of the TV.
- Take walks together.
- Watch selected films together (including talking about them afterwards).
- Start a project together: How about learning or brushing up on a language? Autumn certainly offers enough dreary days for a private conversation course.
- For adults too, board games are an exciting and fun way to spend a nice evening together – and for the truly daring, there are also erotic versions that can definitely bring a breath of fresh air to long-term relationships.

Whoever is alone now…
...that's no problem! Being alone also has its advantages, because as a single person, you're free and decide how to spend your time. Among the many possibilities that you can implement within your own four walls are:
- Wellness afternoons or evenings at home, with chic bath products, a scrub and a soothing face mask (no protective mask for once) and a glass of Prosecco on the edge of the tub.
- Finally read all those books that have been waiting for months... or discover new, exciting authors.
- Plan your own activities – even in the Corona autumn, there will be one or two things worth seeing in the area.
- Integrate workouts at home into your daily routine.
- Don't devour frozen pizzas in front of the TV, but cook healthy meals using fresh ingredients.
- Do handicrafts, decorate, make the apartment a little different and interesting.

There’s plenty to do – let’s get started!
Even in autumn, there's plenty you can do to make your own four walls beautiful and interesting.
