Seeing the good in the negative is an art, and some of us were forced to practice it in 2021. Thanks to the coronavirus. NIKIN also had to push itself to its limits. Especially when it comes to flexibility. And so we've become digital nomads, albeit only between our home office and the NIKIN office. We've learned that we value our team immensely and enjoy seeing each other. Well, that's a nice conclusion.
Can you get too many prizes?
It's a stupid question, of course, but Patrick, Head of Social Media, said this year: "If any more comes in, we'll have output overkill." Of course, this is complaining at a high level; after all, these are great honors like Forbes 30 Under 30 or the PETA Germany Award . Nevertheless, we've resolved to create a bit more white space next year. Not when it comes to advertising, though. Sorry. We'll still be popping up on your screen all the time.
House trained with delay
Something else that many at NIKIN are currently enjoying (albeit with masks) is the freshly tidied office in Lenzburg. It had looked a bit chaotic since spring. We had just moved when the coronavirus hit and sent us back to working from home. So, spring cleaning turned into fall cleaning. Now everything is nicely organized, and workstations can be booked. The learning curve hasn't quite been reached yet, as some people are still struggling with the booking app (or, you could even say, ignoring it), and coffee cups have already been found in certain places. But that will change! PS: We're now also allowing (house-trained) dogs into the office—great, right?
Nobody: ..., NIKIN: Let's do everything in 2021
We actually always knew it, but 2021 was proof that we are hard-working TreeBees. In 2021, we had a website relaunch, the first Green November , Andri Ragettli as NIKIN Ambassador , physical TreePlantingDays , online TreePlantingDays, Christmas markets, 50,000 followers on TikTok, 120,000 on Instagram, what felt like 44 new employees, 1.5 million trees planted, factory visits , and, also very important for the team, a new coffee machine (#diesuchtsiegt). The lesson here is not that some things are too much, but that we like to do a lot and it usually works. @Nike we can also #justdoit.
