The Rauhnächte (Twelve Nights) not only provide an opportunity for celebration and gathering with family and friends, but also provide time for reflection and organization. These two weeks of cozy leisure can be spent within the comfort of your own home – but there are also numerous events outside the home to suit every taste. These include concerts and cultural events, as well as the end of the Christmas markets and, of course, raucous New Year's Eve celebrations.

Everything OK
Ambitious minds use the former Rauhnächte (Twelve Nights) for a bit of self-organization—something that also accompanies the end of the year in other cultures. Where once the paperwork of the previous year was sorted and filed, today it's enough to clean up the email inbox and perhaps update one's backups.

Making plans
The end of the year is also a time for reflection – what made the previous year special, which goals were achieved, which weren't? What has improved? What should be on the agenda for the new year? Better than New Year's resolutions are plans that build on the results of the year now coming to a close – they also have a better chance of being successfully implemented. In short, the Rauhächte can be summed up quite simply: After the show is before the show!
