The synthetic textile material naNea was from OceanSafe Developed. OceanSafe is all about revolutionary synthetic yarns and fibers. The materials offered can compete with currently popular natural and synthetic fibers in terms of comfort. However, they are made from degradable polyester, thus relying on a recyclable material.
The collection is based on a copolymer that has achieved the Platinum level of material health for the biological cycle according to Cradle to Cradle®. The result is a robust material that can be industrially composted or chemically recycled at the end of its life cycle. Another advantage of this recyclable material is its complete absence of other toxins.

Benefits for manufacturers and consumers
Sustainability must be worthwhile – for both sides. Consumers of sustainable fashion already value products made from textiles like naNea. The garments are skin-friendly and breathable.
At the same time, OceanSafe obligates its partners to offer a take-back option: Anyone who doesn't want to upcycle worn-out items can return them to the cycle using the instructions in the QR code on the label. For manufacturers like us, this represents an exciting collaboration that perfectly aligns with our vision.

Wide range of possible applications
naNea's robust, comfortable yarns are ideal for making sustainable clothing, but according to OceanSafe, they can also be used for other purposes, such as furniture covers. Partner manufacturers select what they need from the so-called "textile kit."
This contains materials and components based on naNea and other materials that are Cradle to Cradle® Certified Gold for the biological cycle.
Available are:
- Fibers and yarns
- Finished fabrics
- Sustainable chemicals and dyes
- Accessories and trimmings
- Packaging
With the products currently on offer, eighty percent of the materials used in the fashion industry, for example, could be replaced.
The companies that already use naNea include well-known brands such as Otto, Stotz, Manufactum, Dorbena, Almedahls, Pfister and Sonnhaus.

Sustainable synthetics for everyday use
Synthetic fibers aren't the only problem for environmentalists. Cotton, the natural fiber with its enormous water requirements, also puts a strain on the planet. naNea offers an alternative for producing high-quality eco-fashion, whose potential the fashion industry is only just beginning to recognize.
We also want to make this innovative, ecological material available to you and now have a completely circular product in our range: the TreeShirt Circular. Circular Collection includes the TreeShirt in a unisex and women's version, both of which are fully biodegradable. We take back the worn TreeShirts so that they can be industrially composted.
